Page speed is costing you customers

Every second of delay reduces the number of visitors who stay. Here is what slows a site down and how we fix it.

Most of the sites that come to us for a rebuild do not have a design problem. They have a speed problem. A visitor never tells you the page was slow, they simply go back to the search results and click your competitor.

The usual culprits

Uncompressed photos are the number one cause. A single eight megabyte image can double your load time. After that come unnecessary plugins and third-party scripts that load before your actual content.

What we measure

We look at when the main element of the page appears and how quickly the page becomes usable. Those two numbers say more than any overall score.

The practical result

On a recent project, bringing load time down from four seconds to a second and a half brought thirty percent more quote requests within two months. Same site, same copy, just faster.
